Ovarian Cancer Canada (OCC) is the new name for Canada’s national organization dedicated to overcoming ovarian cancer. Formerly the National Ovarian Cancer Association (NOCA) – in 2007, we united with our counterpart in Western Canada to turn UP the volume on this disease from coast to coast. Called the ‘disease that whispers’; ovarian cancer strikes approximately 200 women in this country every month. Its signs and symptoms are vague, misunderstood and too often go undetected. Together, our mission is to support women and families living with ovarian cancer; raise awareness of the disease among the public and health care professionals; and fund research toward early detection, improved treatments and ultimately, a cure for ovarian cancer. We are proud to support WXN in its similar efforts to facilitate personal and professional development among Canadian women. Find out more about OCC, ovarian cancer and its symptoms at www.ovariancanada.org.
