Pamela launched WXN after starting her professional services firm The Jeffery Group in 1994. She taught government relations strategy in the MBA and Executive MBA Programs at the Rotman School of Management from 1992-2001. Pamela was a Political Advisor in the David Peterson government and Ontario Communications Advisor to Prime Minister Martin in the 2004 federal election. In addition to serving as Past President of the National Club, she serves as a Director of the Canadian Opera Company and a member of the Board of Governors of Trent University and the TELUS Toronto Community Advisory Board. Pamela holds an MBA and an HBA from the Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario. She lives in Toronto with her partner Norman and is the mother of two teenage sons Stephen and Samuel.

Cindy holds an MA from the University of Western Ontario and a BA in English Language and Literature from King’s University College at UWO. She grew up in small town Southwestern Ontario but has been a city girl for more than half her life. Her 18 year-old, 6’ 3” son Ethan towers over his mom and likes to torment her other “children” – three cats who all moved off the streets and into her home. Cindy, who obviously loves to take her work home with her, is a member of the Toronto Bead Society’s Steering Committee and, as programming chair, organizes monthly speaker presentations for fellow bead addicts.

Born in Tallinn, Estonia, Karin has two homes - Estonia and Canada. She often returns to Halifax, Nova Scotia but also enjoys living in the cosmopolitan city of Toronto with her husband James. She earned her Honours BA in Political Science and German from Dalhousie University and her MA in East European and Russian Area Studies from Carleton University. In between her degrees, Karin spent a year in Germany teaching English and travelling around Europe. While in university, Karin volunteered for such organizations as the YMCA, Clean Nova Scotia, and Oxfam. She is currently involved with the Dalhousie Alumnae Association as well as the Alpha Gamma Delta Alumnae Association.

Ronald studied business at the University of New Brunswick, focusing on economics and public policy. In 2005, he attended the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas in Rome, Italy where he studied philosophy, and became fluent in Italian. He is also fluent in French. Ronald served as Student Union Vice-President of External Affairs, and was a student voice for both the Red Cross and the University Senate. For his community involvements, the University of New Brunswick presented Ronald with a Graduating Student Leadership Award.

Sara grew up in Stratford and attended the University of Western Ontario, where she received an Honours BA in Media, Information, Technoculture and Film. After visiting and falling in love with Montreal, she moved there to complete an MA in Media Studies at Concordia University. Sara is a freelance journalist covering community news, environment and human rights issues, and has a weekly column in the Ottawa Xpress. She has traveled extensively throughout Canada and the United States. She arrived in Toronto in 2007 with her three cats, and is never far from her backyard barbecue, even during the winter.

Kristina has a Diploma with Honours from Humber College in Hospitality, Recreation and Tourism. She was born in Etobicoke and has lived in Toronto for her entire life. She has volunteered with various charity and cultural events, including the Weekend to End Breast Cancer, the Art of Fashion in Support of Re-think Breast Cancer, North by Northeast and the Reel Asian Film Festival. Kristina enjoys planning events outside of work, loves to cook, and is brushing up on piano, which she has played since she was 7.

Melanie is proud to hail from Toronto’s Jane and Finch neighborhood. She has a BA in Anthropology from York University, and a Certificate in Publishing from Ryerson University. She is currently studying Project Management at the University of Toronto, and thus has officially attended every one of the city’s major universities. She has two cats named Rygel and Mayday, and has served as a Toronto Environmental Volunteer.

Diana grew up in Glasgow, Scotland where she lived until immigrating to Toronto with her husband in 1971. Diana has two sons. She was educated in Glasgow and subsequently received an Administration Diploma from St. Godric’s College, Hampstead, London. She is a former Crisis Centre volunteer and currently volunteers for the Women’s Post.

Melanie was born in London, Ontario, and moved to Toronto with her family when she was 12. She resides there today, but in the interim has lived in overseas in London, Paris and Dublin. She earned an Honours BA in International Relations and Spanish from King’s College at Dalhousie University, and an MSC in Comparative Politics from the London School of Economics. She is a member of Amnesty International and her previous work has taken her to hot destinations including Khartoum, Sudan; Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan; Lumbini, Nepal; Baku, Azerbaijan; Beirut, Lebanon; Algiers, Algeria; and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Elsa was raised in Connecticut, and moved to Canada to attend Trinity College at the University of Toronto. She is currently finishing an Honours BA in Peace and Conflict Studies with a double minor in Spanish and English. Elsa volunteered for the International Committee of the Red Cross, served on the editorial board of the Toronto Globalist international affairs magazine, and is president of the Trinity College Overseas Development through Education Committee. Until recently, Elsa was also a competitive figure skater. |
