One-on-One with TTC Chair and City Councillor Karen Stintz
Breakfast Series
Toronto, Ontario
June 21, 2012 7:30 AM,EST

Champion of light-rail, TTC Chair Karen Stintz is no backbencher. Taking on Toronto Mayor Rob Ford’s plan for Toronto’s Public Transit system was what some called “risking career suicide”. Having taken on the Mayor and the people of Scarborough in an effort to protect her plan, Councillor Stintz has embodied courage and determination. Perhaps her most public undertaking was her experience as “Ruth” for an episode of Undercover Boss: Canada. In this role she was able to share her story and the day to day experience of TTC staff. Above and beyond her role as TTC Chair and Councillor of Ward 16 (Lawrence-Eglinton), Karen is a wife and mother of two.

Join WXN as we host Councillor Stintz for a morning interview with one of the city's top journalists, Anne-Marie Mediwake, Anchor of the CBC Evening News for CBC Toronto.  They will talk about where she sees the TTC in the future, balancing two high-profile roles and motherhood. Hear inspiring insights about what it’s like to be in the media spotlight and come out ahead as a champion of the people.
