Recently at a WXN Breakfast in Calgary, 2007 WXN Top 100 Hall of Fame inductee and Corporate Director Kathleen Sendall was interviewed by WXN founder, Pamela Jeffery as they delved into a variety of questions. We think Kathy’s ‘Top 10’ list makes pretty good sense and is also a great conversation starter. Here are Kathy’s ‘Top 10’: 1. Never give up the search for the perfect mascara. 2. It’s no news that as women take on more leadership roles in global business, they meet with competing priorities. Along with fulfilling the demands of industry-specific knowledge, there’s an expectation that managers should be skillful in communication, motivating a team, and performance management—the “soft skills.” It’s time we do away with the term “soft skill” in general as we look towards the next iteration of these people-oriented competencies. |
